Paper Types

The following list of paper types are the most commonly used. The list of available paper types can be customized per conference.

 

Technical

A technical paper is a full-length, peer-reviewed paper that is accepted for presentation at a technical session and publication in the conference proceedings. Requires an abstract upon submittal for consideration; if accepted a draft and final paper are required.

Length: No more than 10 pages (full formatted, two-column, 8.5 x 11 in. pages)

 

Extended Abstract

An extended abstract is a short (2 pages), peer-reviewed paper that is accepted for presentation at a technical session and publication in the conference proceedings. Extended abstracts may include diagrams, graphs, charts, photos and a small amount of text to illustrate major points of a paper. Requires an abstract upon submittal for consideration; if accepted a draft and final paper are required.

Length: 2 pages (full formatted, two-column, 8.5 x 11 in. pages)

 

Presentation Only

A presentation-only paper is a full-length paper that is accepted and scheduled for presentation only at a technical session; it will not be published in the conference proceedings. Requires an abstract upon submittal for consideration.

 

Panel Discussion

A panel discussion is an oral presentation at a panel session; it will not be published in the conference proceedings. Requires a brief description of the discussion upon submittal (to be inserted in ”r;Abstract” field during submittal process).

 

Poster

A poster paper is a hard copy version of a technical paper that is posted for public view at a poster session; papers may include diagrams, graphs, charts, photos and a small amount of text to illustrate major points of paper. These papers are full-length technical papers that have undergone the peer-review process. They may be included in the conference proceedings. Requires an abstract upon submittal for consideration; if accepted a draft and final paper are required.

 

Poster Presentation Only

A poster presentation-only paper is a full-length paper that is accepted and scheduled for presentation only at a poster session; it will not be published in the conference proceedings. Requires an abstract upon submittal for consideration.
