Student Poster Program

ASME and the Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers (STLE) invite students (both undergraduate and graduate level) to participate in a poster program being organized as part of the World Tribology Congress III.

Students or groups of students participating in the poster program will have the opportunity to display their work as a poster in the Hilton's exhibit hall and to have a poster paper included in the conference proceedings. The poster may include diagrams, graphs, charts, photos and a small amount of text to illustrate major points of the student research. The corresponding poster paper is an extended abstract (2-page maximum) that will then be included in the conference proceedings.

The hall is located near the technical session rooms and will be the site of a 50-booth exhibit of products and services. It will also serve as the location for refreshment breaks and some food functions. This is expected to be a busy location throughout the week-long event. Participants will be assigned a designated time to be at their poster station, so they will have ample opportunity to experience the full WTC technical program.

The WTC will bring together more than 1,000 tribologists, scientists, researchers and engineers from more than 60 countries around the globe. The conference will address the fundamental aspects of tribology along with broader tribological issues such as Tribology Education, Health and Safety, Tribology In The Design Process, Life Cycle Analysis, Energy Efficiency, Reliability and Productivity and Emissions.

The deadline for poster abstract submission has passed. For questions, contact the WTC office at wtcinfo@asme.org.

The 2-page extended abstract must be submitted by Tuesday, May 31, to be included in the conference proceedings.

NOTE: The WTC registration fee has been waived for all ASME and STLE student members. Travel, housing and other costs related to attendance must be paid by the participant. A student member SUPERPASS option will also be available at a registration fee of $125. This will include (1) one-year subscription to ONE on-line journal, (1) book of choice, (1) CD-ROM, and all food functions including breaks and (1) giveaway.

The WTC organizers hope you will take this unique opportunity to interact with top people in the field of tribology and lubricants, as well as experience this outstanding week-long program of technical sessions and plenary speakers.
